Nigerian Man Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison For Human Trafficking And Sexual Exploitation

A 34 year-old Nigerian man was on Monday, June 13, sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by the East London Regional Court after he was found guilty of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. He will also spend another 12 months in jail for failure to comply with the Immigration Act.

“Chinamera Amajouyi, and his fellow countryman Prince Ameka Agu, lured two teenagers aged 14 and 15 years from Soweto, in Gauteng province, to Quigney in East London, Eastern Cape Province, in May 2010,” described police spokesperson, Captain Anelisa Feni.

“The two had promised the girls a good life but to their surprise the girls were forcefully turned into s*x slaves.”

Captain Feni said that a month later, the girls were rescued by a s*x worker, who hid them at her friend’s house until they were found by police, who were doing their routine patrols.
“Amajuoyi and Agu were arrested in 2011 and were released on bail.
“The two, who were due to be sentenced in April 2012, skipped the country and failed to appear in court. Amajuoyi was re-arrested in 2015. The Hawks are still in search of Agu.
