A reckless commercial driver is in deep trouble after he allegedlyran over pedestrians breaking his leg in a Lagos community.

Olamide Adu, a 19-year-old commercial bus driver, who allegedly
drove his vehicle recklessly and knocked down a pedestrian, was on
Wednesday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
NAN reports that the accused, who resides at Ipaja, a suburb of
Lagos, is being tried for reckless driving and knocking down a
pedestrian.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Rapheal Donny, told the court that the offences were committed on February 24 at Ipaja Motor Park.
According to him, the accused drove recklessly without
consideration for other road users and in the process, hit a pedestrian,
Mr. Emmanuel Chukwudi.
“The accused took the complainant to the hospital, but when he
discovered that the man had a fracture on his leg, he abandoned him and
refused to return there.
“He did not pay a dime for his (victim’s) hospital bills. The case was reported at the police station and the accused was apprehended,” he said.
Donny said the complainant had not been able to walk with the leg since the accident.
The offences contravened sections 3(1), 18(1) and 19(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Folakemi Davies-Abegunde, granted the accused a bail of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until July 10 for mention.
