A high school teacher has been arrested by cops after allegedly
having s*x with a 17-year-old student on camera, Daily Star UK reports.
Amber Turnage, a former biology teacher at Provine High School in
Jackson, Mississippi, US, was charged with six counts of s*xual battery
for having intercourse with and performing other sexual acts on the
student.
An attorney for the teen claimed the affair was discovered after
several students reported Turnage, who is married with children, to
school staff.
“My client was entrapped by a sexual scam," said Warren Martin, the unnamed boy’s lawyer.
"This teacher saw him, preyed upon him and when she realised he
was close to revealing her criminality, she sought efforts to conceal
it by offering my client cash payments."
Martin claimed the allegations had been reported to the appropriate authorities and his client is "distraught".
Graphic videos depicting sexual acts, including one showing the
teacher performing oral sex, were said to have been posted across social
media.
Jackson Public School District released a statement on the allegations.
It read: “The District takes these allegations very seriously and is conducting a thorough investigation.
“The teacher involved has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
“Once the investigation is complete, JPS will take the appropriate action.
“We have reported this matter to our local law enforcement
agency. The Department of Human Services and the Mississippi Department
of Education has also been notified.
“The safety and well-being of our students is of utmost importance and a top priority.”
