Afrobeat musician Femi Kuti, son of the legendary Fela Kuti has said in an interview with Hip TV that he isn’t surprised by the attention afrobeat is getting worldwide.
Femi said he’s always known afrobeat is the music for the future, adding that even Miles David said it in his biography.
He added that hip hop acts back in day were fanatics of afrobeat, and the genre was an offshoot of afrobeat.
