2019: Even if I Don’t Get PDP Ticket, I‘ll Work For Party – Atiku

A former Vice President who is also a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has said that he would continue to work for the party, even if he doesn’t win its presidential ticket.

Atiku spoke in Abuja on Friday at the national secretariat of the party where he formally notified members of the National Working Committee of his intention to seek the ticket to contest the Presidential election.

He said that the conduct of the Ekiti State governorship primary, which he said was free, fair and credible, had given him the assurance that the presidential primary of the party would also be the same.

He told the members of the NWC, which was led by the party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, to also repeat the feat in Osun State.

He argued that free and transparent primaries would boost the party’s chances not only in the Presidential election, but also in helping the PDP to regain its lost glory.
He said, “Whether I become the presidential candidate or not, I want to assure you that I will always discharge my obligations to this party.

“If we can sustain the kind of primary that we had in Ekiti, there is no doubt that this party will be on its way to regaining the preeminence in power that we were known for.”
