In a very aggressive bid to shake-off President Muhammadu Buhari and APC government come 2019, the People’s Democratic Party has collided with 38 other political parties.
On Monday, 9th July 2018, the members of Reformed All Progressive Congress and some other political parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding to kick off the new alliance called Coalition Of United Political Parties.
While addressing the whole nation at the first public meeting with the allied parties, PDP chairman, Uche Secondus said the grand alliance is necessary to move Nigeria into recovery.
In his words;
“I share the sentiments of all and I believe that we are now one with this grand alliance. Our nation is on the move of recovery”.
Meanwhile, former President Buhari’s ally, Buba Galadima who left APC to form R-APC led his group to join the CUPP movement. He also declared that the new political party is not going to be a tea party.
“I assure you seated here that if we can get our acts together, work together, be open to each other, the sky is our limit and success is our own. It is not going to be a tea party”, Galadima said.
Meanwhile, the Coalition Of United Political Parties is expected to present a single candidate to run the presidential race against President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates that will emerge.
You’d recall that the alliance of CPC, ANPP, ACN and few other parties to form APC before the last general elections contributed to President Buhari Victory at the polls.
