Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has said that Danny Welbeck is in line for more first-team minutes, after his brace against Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
Welbeck scored twice at the Emirates, before a 58-minute free kick from Alan Judge reduced the tally.
However, they fell short, as Alexandre Lacazette fired in a third for the Gunners.
Welbeck who will be out of contract next summer, is yet to start a league game this season, but now has four goals to his name for Arsenal.
“Danny Welbeck gives us his commitment every day. When he’s playing with a performance like today, he’s helping the team. We want this.
“Also, more chances to find the first XI for the next matches with performances like today.
“Every player’s future is important. It is for the club and the player.
“But the performance and the commitment is very high. I would be happy with Danny Welbeck,” Emery told SkySports.
