Drama As Angry Relatives Jump Inside Grave To Prevent Man’s Burial

A mild drama ensued on Thursday in when two groups clashed at a local cemetery during the burial of a 33-year-old man who was murdered a week ago.
One group said they were not satisfied with the way the police have handled the murder case.
According to the family of the victim identified as Edward Mwangi, he was found murdered in a farm. He had sustained serious cuts after being stabbed eight times on December 3, 2018.
The main suspect who surrendered himself to the police, also presented the knife he allegedly used to kill the deceased.
Upon arrest, the family of the victim claimed they were not issued with any OB number at the Bahati Police Station and that the suspect was released the same day.
“We will not allow the funeral to take place until we get an explanation why the main suspect was released,” said Ms Mary Wangari, the dead man’s wife.
Attempts by mourners to persuade the three to leave the grave did not bear fruits as they continued to pitch camp in and around the grave disrupting the arrangements for the day. Their resistance made the deceased’s father who they accused of taking sides with the suspect lost cool and ordered other relatives to whisk the two out of the grave.
The man was finally buried at 2pm Thursday.
