Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has slammed the decision of Islamic police, Hisbah to interrogate parents of Miss Nigeria 2021, Shatu Garko, for allowing their daughter to take part in the beauty pageant which she emerged winner last Friday, December 17.

Haruna Ibn-Sina, Kano Hisbah board commandant, in an interview with BBC Pidgin described Garko's participation in the beauty pageant as "illegal".

Ibn-Sina added that participation in beauty pageantries is against Islamic tenets, and Garko's action could encourage other girls to do same.

Reno in a post shared on his Instagram page wondered why the Islamic police wants to interrogate parents of the 18-year-old queen when they haven't interrogated others who were found wanting.

His post reads;

''Kano’s Hisbah want to interrogate, Miss Nigeria, Shatu Garko, and her parents, over her unIslamic participation in Miss Nigeria? Wonderful! Kano’s Governor was caught on camera stashing bribes in dollars.

Has the Hisbah interrogated him? What happened to the Hisbah commander that was caught in a hotel with a married woman in February? Or they think we have forgotten? Perhaps the Hisbah commander was teaching the married woman bedroom Hisbah? Or are those acts not unIslamic?
